Meet Matt
Counseling Associate, Parent Coach
Thomas Merton once said, "Every moment and every event of every man's life on earth plants something in his soul."
This has shaped the way I see and process life. Life can be complex and often challenging, whether navigating the unmet expectations of a friend, the loss of a significant relationship, or the death of a loved one. Every moment plants something in our souls.
These are difficult things to imagine working through, and we often push them aside in hopes that soon they will be behind us. Or maybe we reach for a drink as an attempt to numb the pain. Or work 100 hours at our job to escape the obvious…what has been planted in our soul by these events genuinely needs to be processed.
I know what loss is. In 2015, I suffered a significant loss that I thought I could never move past. A loss that seemed so significant that I could never be the same again. A loss that some would describe as the 'dark night of the soul'.
After realizing that I could never make this journey alone, I reached out and found a counselor to help me process the grief I felt overwhelmed by. This relationship proved to not only help me name and walk through the grief but also recognize other unhealthy patterns I had been living in for many years.
My specialty is working with clients experiencing grief + loss, as well as those struggling with anxiety and depression.
I live in a community just south of the Mercedes Benz Stadium with my wife and 2 boys. We love to spend our time outside, going on long walks, and making homemade Italian dishes.
Matt’s counseling session fee is $55 per 50- minute session.
