Therapy and Coaching for teen boys

Helping young men reach their potential.

As a parent, you want your son to thrive. You know he can. But he isn’t and you aren’t sure how to help.

You believe in your son. Your goal is to help him launch into life feeling confident in his direction and having the tools necessary for him to succeed. You find yourself worried though. He isn’t performing academically, and most of the time it doesn’t really seem like he’s trying. Rather than studying, he is often on his phone or playing video games. He hangs with friends, but you’re not sure that they are the best influence on him.

You’ve noticed his procrastination and tried everything. You’ve lectured him, given him consequences, and even tried doing nothing. None of it seemed to work. You just want to connect with him. You’re worried that he is going to fall too far behind and dig himself into an even greater hole.

The good news is that he can be successful and really enjoy his high school experience.

The biggest task of adolescence is discovering your identity and who you are. Your son is doing important work. He will often try on different identities, and that can be frustrating! Here’s the truth. Your son feels more pressure to succeed than ever before. He feels the pressure from peers, college counselors, and, unfortunately, parents. Many kids choose to opt-out when faced with so much pressure.

But there’s a better way.

What if he could figure out who he is, what he cares about, and who he wants to be? What if he could know himself in a way that helps him face challenges head-on, learn to be a self-starter, and get the necessary support along the way when he needs it?

I help by offering

Teens experience higher rates of anxiety, depression, and anger issues than any other time before.

Therapy can help you feel better when emotions feel out of control. In therapy, you will learn about how our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors often work together in a way that keeps us stuck.

Your son will learn the skills and strategies on how to get unstuck.

Therapy

Coaching

Is your son facing a particular issue or challenge like preparing for college or wanting to set goals for the future?

Coaching is different than therapy in that it helps your son clarify his goals and create actionable strategies to reach his goals.

Coaching is time-limited and offers between-session support.

Parent Coaching

Are you the most stressed in your family? Parent coaching helps parents maximize their parenting by helping you think through your own story of being parented.

In parent coaching, we also help you develop skills and strategies to implement boundaries, offer support, while still getting your needs met.

Having the right guide is important.

My name is Ash Blanton. I’ve been helping teen boys and young adult men launch into adulthood since 2010. I’ve worked in schools, with college athletes, church organizations, and in private practice where I have been fortunate enough to help young men gain the skills necessary for life.

I want your son to be his best, because I believe healthy young men grow into being healthy husbands, fathers, and community leaders.
