Helping Teens and Young Adults Struggling with Impulsivity and Anxiety

Are you worried that your teen or young adult is struggling?

You want them to be emotionally healthy and succeed in school, sports, and friendships, but you see signs that concern you—impulsive behavior, moments of withdrawal, or even anxiety.

They seem to have it all together at times, but you wonder if they’re masking deeper struggles. You’ve tried to help them on your own, but it seems like you’re hitting a brick wall.

Hi, I’m Ash Blanton.

For years, my life motto was “work harder and don’t ask for help.” I struggled with perfection, anxiety, and the overwhelm of feeling like I had to have it together all of the time.

I became a therapist to help young guys like myself have a space where they could talk about the struggles that they face and solve their problems by building on their strengths and skills. I care about building a connection with you or your teen because therapy works best when there is a real relationship and you feel comfortable opening up.

My goal is to help you or your teen find solutions to life’s biggest problems.

What’s the Ember Counseling Difference?

Connection

Therapy works best when we’re on the same team and connection is essential. I care about learning what you are interested in, whether it is music, sports, or art and incorporating them into therapy.

Experiential

Our experiences shape us. Talk therapy can be great and useful, however it more impactful to incorporate it into the real world. Therapy can be done in the office or we can go for walk and talks, meet for coffee, or by throwing the baseball.

Support

Our goal is to provide both your teen and your family with the support that your teen needs. It is crucial that teens feel supported. In addition, we offer parent coaching as a way to help your teen implement the things they are learning through therapy.

Our Services

Therapy for Young Adults

Teen Counseling

Therapy focused on helping adolescent boys gain the developmental skills to successfully launch into adulthood. Teen therapy helps young men define their values and learn necessary skills to successfully navigate life.

Therapy Intensives

Imagine the progress you could make spending 12-15 dedicated hours with a licensed therapist and certified coach. Intensives are focused therapy experiences uniquely designed to help you reach your goals faster than weekly therapy.

 FAQs

  • Our rate is $200 per session.

  • As is the case with other extensively trained and highly qualified therapists with many years of experience, I am not on any insurance panels and my clients pay privately for my services. This gives you several important advantages, including protecting your privacy (the insurance company does not have access to your diagnosis or what was discussed in our sessions) and control of our work together (you and I determine the length of therapy, what you want to cover in therapy, and the type of treatment that you find is effective and works, not the insurance company). This provides you with the best experience and services.
